3 Simple Rules to keep off the weight you lost

What you do before you begin a weight loss program is important to keep you from gaining weight. These simple rules will help you in keeping the weight off. Also if you have reached a weight loss plateau, these steps will help you keep going. It is simple and it is easy. This is something that I discovered after trying several diet programs and exercise routines. My wife and I are both following this and we are maintaining our weight.
Here are the 3 rules:
1) Increase your metabolism by doing some kind of cleanse. This is best if done before you start any exercise or diet program. Besides, most cleanses also reduce some weight by getting rid of waste matter in the body. This cleanse prepares your digestive system to become a food burning machine. Think of this as a furnace that produces energy by burning food. The better it is, the more energy you will burn. We tried the master cleanse and it worked well for us though it was very hard to go through. After the master cleanse or any other cleanse, give yourself 2 or 3 weeks or light intensity workpout before you begin a rigorous exercise schedule.See my other hub for details on the master cleanse. http://hubpages.com/hub/Observations-on-the-Master-Cleanse

2) Reduce your sugar intake. Sugar is the number one factor in increasing weight. Sugar is found in many sources and forms. The sugar in most fruits are fine, if eaten raw. Fruit juices on the other hand are high in sugar content. For example, carrots and sweet potatoes are wonderful foods that help in dieting. Carrot is great for suppressing appetites and sweet potatoes are a great source of fiber. White sugar, processed foods like white flour, and any combination of these like donuts and bagels are a sure way to put the weight back. If you have to, eat very little amounts of these sweets. You may be better off eating dark chocolate with at least 70 percent cocoa. If you are inclined to cooking or baking, then try alternate recipes involving healthy ingredients. Brown sugar, turbinado sugar or sugar in the raw are better choices. Stay away from splenda, equal and the like. If you have a sweet tooth, try stevia or xylitol. Both are natural sweeteners and xylitol is used in tooth pastes and it is good for your teeth.

3) The final rule is to increase your fiber intake to the recommended levels. Fiber not only fills you up, but it also helps you to discharge the waste from your body most effectively. In other words, get regular bowel movement. Some people advocate 1 to 3 bowel movements, but one good bowel movement per day is enough. The important thing for fiber to work is to drink plenty of liquids. Good sources of fiber rich foods, fruits and vegetables are listed here including a new oatmeal recipe: http://facttalk.blogspot.com.

Two months, after the first cleanse, plan to do a mini cleanse every month which could be a one-day water fast. I typically do this on the first Friday of every month. If you follow the above rules and eat sensibly and exercise moderately, you are on your way to great health for a life time.
